Installing on the headset

PoleView is a free sideloaded app for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, distributed through SideQuest. Sideloading is Meta's own developer-mode path — five minutes the first time, seconds ever after.

First install

  1. Enable developer mode on the headset — free Meta developer account, then toggle Developer Mode in the phone app. SideQuest's own setup walkthrough covers this and stays current with Meta's screens.
  2. Install PoleView from its SideQuest listing — either SideQuest's in-headset app, or the desktop app with the headset on USB.
  3. Launch it: on the headset, Library → Unknown Sources → PoleView. A recorded race opens by itself — that's the whole first run. No account, no PC, no setup.

Updating

Install the new version over the top. Your settings, saved layout and diorama placement all survive an update — updating is how they're preserved.

Do not uninstall first. Uninstalling wipes your settings and layout, and there is no cloud copy to restore them from — nothing leaves the headset, which is the point, but it means an uninstall is final.
